giselle lowpoly - MINIMAL COMPLEX  WORKSHOPs

Thanks to the Mayor and Culture Secretary's Office and through the Exhibition Hall Carlos Drews Castro, the Artist Giselle Low Poly conducted the Illustration workshop : Minimal Complex at the Educational Institution Hugo Ángel Jaramillo located in Pereira, Colombia which was attended by 28 students from second through eleven grade.

This work was done for the planning frame of the Pereira's Mayor's office which consists on schools visits which allow a meeting between the exhibitor artist and students in a discussion group where technical concepts and creative methodology are explained generating an encounter, not only artistic, but human and social using art as an excuse. Therefore, this experience is rewarding not only for students but for the artist who through studies of editorial design and illustration seeks to strengthen the role of the graphic designer and visual communicator on learning at an early age and education.

This workshop consists of 28 artworks which have been exhibited accompanying Giselle LowPoly's artwork ; decision taken because of  their excellent graphic results. This is a recognition to the new Visual Arts seedbeds seedbeds  of the city of Pereira. The mission of Carlos Drews Castro Exhibition Hall is to be a school- space  in which  children, teenagers and adults can reflect on, observe the artwork and at the same time acquire a direct knowledge from the Arts.

Thanks to the Mayor and Culture Secretary's Office and through the Exhibition Hall Carlos Drews Castro, the Artist Giselle Low Poly conducted the Illustration workshop : Minimal Complex at the Lucy Tejada Cultural Center located in Pereira, Colombia which was attended by 10 Visual Arts´ students from programs such as Plastic Arts, Graphic Design, Sculpture and Visual Communication from different universities in the city.

This imposing Cultural Center, located where the Central Gallery used to take place, is where the Culture Institute of Pereira, the Musicians Band, the Remigio Antonio Cañarte  Radio Station, the Municipal Library, the Exhibition Hall, music workshops, theater, dances and commercial premises related to the cultural theme. It was inaugurated on August 30, 2005 on the occasion of the anniversary celebrations of the city.

This free workshop took place the day after the inauguration of Minimal Complex- Giselle LowPoly exhibition at the Exhibition Hall Carlos Drews Castro, where the the artist and students had  the chance to have an encounter where they discussed not only the artistic but the social relevance of her artwork. Furthermore, at the workshop they discussed technical concepts and creative methodology applied to the students exploration of the low poly and high poly tecnique, taking Giselle Low Poly´s artwork as reference but not final visual result.

Thanks to the Universidad Pedagógica y Tecnológica de Colombia U.P.T.C -TUNJA, its Arts School and through the Gallery ¨El Cuarto¨, the Artist Giselle Low Poly conducted the Illustration workshop : Minimal Complex at U.P.T.C Arts School located in Tunja, Colombia which was attended by 10 Plastic Arts students and 3 Arts professors which gave life and shape to this amazing experience.  Special thanks to The Master of Arts, Cartoonist and Arts Professor William Arciniegas, who is well know thanks to his politic comics in local and national Colombian newspapers and  the Master of Arts, Arts Professor and ¨El Cuarto¨Gallery´s Curator Joanna Albarracín for supporting emerging artists and creating art platforms to share visual and social knowledge through design and visual communication.
